Prayer Gatherings

Prayer is of huge importance to us at Flame. Leonard Ravenhill once said,

No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere.

Those words should stir us to pray, and in response to that and so many other things that the bible teaches us about praying, we have created a regular rhythm of PRAYER. Every Tuesday evening @7:30pm we gather together to Worship and Pray.  These times are amazing moments of God’s presence being felt and His voice being heard, sometimes for the individuals attending themselves, sometimes for us as the Flame.

It doesn’t matter how confident or not you are with praying, being in a space with others coming together to SEEK God together is an incredible thing. The bible tells us that there is something special about praying in agreement with others, so every member of Flame is strongly encouraged to make the prayer meetings a priority…

If you are new to prayer, don’t worry, no one is put under any pressure to pray ‘out-loud’ and some come just to silently seek God, and agree with others in prayer. Sometimes we are called to ‘…Be STILL and know…God…’, so whatever your experience with prayer, whether you are confident to speak out, or just feel ok sitting in silence, listening and quietly praying with others, then there is a space for you at the Prayer Meeting…Be BRAVE, come along.
