The PROBLEM…

But what does it mean to CHOOSE Him? Why do we need to CHOOSE?

Will me doing good-works, being nice to people, generous, kind, helping people out, get me this GIFT? Unfortunately NO. We cant EARN our way to God…No amount of GOOD things we do will ever remove the fact we are ALL sinners…No one likes to hear that, but it’s true, we have ALL, everyone of us messed up when it comes to choosing GOD.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23

To sin is to break God’s Law and it includes much more than murder, which is the first thing people’s minds always jump to when someone says we’ve ALL sinned; it’s our first reaction to say, ‘…we are not as bad as that…’. The truth is, sin is anything we think, say, do or don’t do, that does not please God, and it doesn’t matter how big or small a SIN we think we are guilty of, to a perfect God with HOLY standards, all SIN is equal.

Because of this, we can’t save ourselves. If you wanted to save yourself by good deeds, do you know how good you would have to be?…PERFECT

If PERFECTION is the standard then what HOPE do any of us have?

The Bible says that “God is LOVE.” And God says “I have LOVED you with an everlasting LOVE.” But the same Bible which tells us that God loves us also tells us that God is JUST and therefore must punish sin.

Forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty – Exodus 34:7

And there We have the PROBLEM, our SIN no matter how BIG or SMALL we think it is, gets in the way of us taking hold of the GIFT God has for US, because it gets in between US and GOD. God loves us and doesn’t want to punish us, but He is JUST and must punish SIN.

God, knowing we could never be PERFECT enough to SAVE ourselves, in HIS LOVE for US solved the problem, and sent JESUS the SOLUTION….

And How is He Going to do that?

Ok, i’ll give you that, compared to PERFECT I’m not that GOOD...A little bit of HELP wouldn’t hurt…
